Sabbath. Study. Serve.

Sabbath, Study, Serve
Taking the Sermon Into Our Week

Scripture of the Week: Mark 8:35, Matthew 25: 34-36 and Matthew 28: 19-20

From the Sermon:

Just as there are generous _______, there are also generous _______.

We often don’t think about this type of __________ as being a mark of generosity, but it truly is.

A generous church sees______ and wants to deeply _______ with them, all for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

A generous church _________ its time, compassion, attention, talent, and money.

Generosity is both a root and a ________ of faith.

Reflection Questions:

Have you ever just been to a place that does hospitality well? What was that experience like?

Who are the folks that come to your mind when you think of a generous person?

How as a church are we generous in these marks of a Christian life?

Prayer:

Lord, we pray that you continue to mold and shape us. We pray that you help us to embrace the identity of being a generous person and a generous church, all for the sake of the Kingdom of God. May we expand our definition of generosity so that we live for you, O Lord, with all we have and with all we pray. We pray in Jesus’s name. Amen.
