Taking the Sermon Into Our Week
Scripture of the Week: Acts 15:1-18
From the Sermon:
______ went and done what he was commissioned to do. Spread the Good News to the ___________.
People were going to the folks Paul had taught about the faith and saying that they weren’t really believers unless they are _______________.
Paul got into a “___________________” along with Barnabas with these folks who are teaching these new things and confusing the new believers.
If we just look at the simplistic understanding we miss the fact that the early church ________________________________.
For Paul and the church in Jerusalem, that thing, is _____________________.
Reflection Questions:
What tradition were some people trying to upon in Acts 15 and why?
What was Paul’s understanding and argument?
How can we be brothers and sisters in the faith if we do not agree on everything?
What is the most important thing about being a follower of Jesus?
Prayer:
Lord, forgive us for the times we have tried to put more rules upon your grace. Lord, you know our hearts, and know that we have done this with the best of intentions, but it has also cut people off from your love. Lord, speak your grace again to our hearts this day, we pray. Amen.
