Sabbath. Study. Serve.

Sabbath, Study, Serve
Taking the Sermon Into Our Week

Scripture of the Week: Mark 10: 17-31

From the Sermon:
Jesus intends to be heading to ___________, knowing all that he is to face there, when a man came and __________ him.

“_______ Teacher, what must I do to ________ eternal life?”

Jesus looked at him and told him that he ________________________ - to sell all that he had, give the money to the poor, and come and follow Jesus.

Inheritances aren’t something that we can ______.

Jesus’s reply was said in ______.

Reflection Questions:
What may prevent us from coming to be a part of the Kingdom of God?

Are you looking at yourself through the standards of the world or the standards of the Kingdom of Heaven?

Prayer:

Most Gracious God, we admit that at times we see more of ourselves in the Rich Man than not. We, too, at times try to make eternal life into something that we can earn through our good actions and deeds, instead of a gift from you. And we, too, can become disappointed when the cost of discipleship is more than we anticipated. Forgive us, Lord. Amen.
