Repentance - Luke 23: 32-43

In Greek the word that we translate as repentance is metanoia. Meta - beyond, Noia - mind. Therefore, repentance is a new mindset that leads to different action.
Sometimes we aren't very sure what we need to repent of, that's why we need a time of self-examination in our lives. Trusting that if we are honest before God, God will reveal to us those areas that may be blind spots where we need to repent.
One place that can be a blind spot is having a self-absorbed mind set. One that is so focused on self that we aren't aware of how we have drifted from God or hurt others. Repentance in this situation may be a desire to change and be more loving to God and neighbor.
Other times we may not be aware how we have sinned by hurting others. In this case, repentance may involve seeking forgiveness from others and being vulnerable enough to genuinely apologize.
What are the areas in your live you feel called to repent for this Lenten season? Where do you need a new mindset that leads to new action?
